I have a Palm Zire and am curious if anyone else has had good success with one under Linux/KDE 3.1 with the synchronization? Is it pretty well supported? I had a Tungsten, and took it back just due to the fact that Linux support for it seemed like months away

Good call, if you are new to linux and want a really great combination of ease of use and desktop beauty, Mandrake fits right into that nitche. If you are a power freak, there is nothing better than Gentoo, and if you want power but don't want the time to do everything yourself, and want a servery-looking-desktop and good support from industry (you are scared of source packages) then go with Redhat. haha you just summed up my feelings in a nutshell... BUT isn't that a fantastic thing to be worried about? As opposed to being totally happy with the current release, and nothing new or cool comming in the next release? It's always exciting gettting this huge updates. I always wit for the .1.1 releases, so the "growing pain" type of bugs that weren't found during testing are corrected.
