I am looking for an intelligible tutorial on getting Amarok to stream audio following a fresh, clean install of F13KDE. I am a noob. Anyway, I tried playing an audio CD. Didn't get very far. I don't know how to mount the CD. I don't know of any other audio formatted file on my system that I can test for playback through Amarok or Xine. I have Xine installed. I saw something on the Internet about the Phonon configuration being correct, but I couldn't make sense of it because it seemed like it mig...
My screen goes blank after a set period of time of inactivity. I don't have the patience to sit at my laptop and time it, because I know that the easier way would be just to post a question about it on this forum and get an accurate fix. So, I am running Fedora 12 KDE and I want to disable the screen going blank after a set period of time. How do I do that, please? Thanks, theAdmiral
I would like to convert web pages and other documents to pdf format through the printer driver interface. theAdmiral
Given that I do not want to run KDE 4.x on my puter, yet; and that I want to run 3.5.9; and that installed on my computer is 4.x, I must go to a download site and download the right file(s) and install them. Trouble is when I go to the sites where I can access download links for 3.5.9, there are always a list of two or three dozen files and I don't know which one(s) to download if I want to revert back to 3.5.9. Can someone please assist on this matter? Your help would be greatly appreciated. To...
Would anybody out there know of a highly recommended, easy-to-use, pdf converter for my printer driver? (Of the kind that CutePDF is for Windows). thanks, theAdmiral
I don't know how it happened, pushing mouse buttons or something, but the contents of my system tray were moved over to the left hand/bottom corner of my screen. Now when I minimize a program, it shuts down. How do I get the contents of my system tray, or the system tray itself to move back over to the right/bottom corner of the screen? thanks, theAdmiral
We are operating in a KDE forum. I would surmise that it would be safe to assume that when I said I am looking for a specific range of "versions", that the version that I am seeking are KDE versions. I went to the suggested website and looked all through all the directories and only saw a lot of isos and other miscellaneous that was not listed or identified as a "KDE". Sorry, but this was of no help. Thanks anyway.
To whom it may concern: I am requesting an absolutely, positively known URL where I can download KDE version >= 3.4, but less than nor equal to 4. Some of those links out there are in error or are out of date. If anybody can provide me with this accurate, reliable, and valuable piece of information, I would greatly appreciate it. Notice: it may be under a crack or crevice somewhere, will require seasoned guru. Thanks, theAdmiral

Ok, There is another post floating somewhere around here, I think. I am not sure if I posted it before my network on my laptop bugged out or after. If after, no bother. At any rate, I got back to the military time with the day and date in my system tray. My clock is still in military time after several, and I mean *several*, attempts to both directly and indirectly change it to standard time format. Would someone out there who is knowledgeable in this area please tell me how to set the clock to ...
Rob, Thank you for your efforts, but as a matter of course, you should not have assumed that I was running Kcontrol. I had to install it upon your mention of its use for this issue. And you know what they say about assumptions. So, now that it is installed, I went into administrator mode to try to do what I wanted to do, however, that proposed solution did not work. Something was done wrong. Don't know what, but it was done wrong. Now if we could get the right solution, and get it to work, that ...
Rob, or anyone-- How do I get into KDE Control Center? I have no knowledge that I am using it. If I am using it, I certainly don't know that I am using. Trying to get into it is like having my hands tied behind my back. theAdmiral
