You don't like CLI's, fine. What does that have to do with KDE? The whole point of this thread is that this new GUI is broken...
But no where in KDE4 command line is removed and no one is going to remove command line. As you mention there are plenty of users who don't want to use windows and also they don't want to learn linux (because it's not their job). They need a system in which they can do every day jobs easily. AND THIS IS NOT WHAT LINUX IS, at least up to now. Just for an example I tried to connect to my VPN network, it was really a ache! I tried 3 or 4 different ways and almost no one worked every where!

Quoted I personally prefer VTech TV to a command line like system, time of using console is over! please consider it... I strongly disagree. For experienced linux users, the command-line is, for most tasks, much more powerful than any graphical interface. Come on, who is that exprienced linux user? I'm a 10 year windows developer. Although I have used dos and win 3.1 for a while, migrating to a command line linux...
ah. . . it also does not display the needed download sum of all selected packages for installation before committing the installation
The new Kpackage manager is not functioning very well, specially when it's downloading more then one file simultaneously it just shows (13% 8.6kB/s 01h06m20s) and then replaces the line with (2% 4.1kB/s 01h06m5s) and . . . it's not even clear which package is in progress and which one is finished. For now I prefer to use the old Adept manager from KDE3
You mean to remove kdmtheme? Yes, you are right I'm running on Gusty.
Hi there, I have installed KDE4 beside my kde3, I have also installed kdmtheme which appeares in system settings in KDE3 but in kde4 system settings whenever I enter login manager, every thing is disabled and I can change no thing! I thought if the problem is kdm as default session manager and installed kdm-kde4 and set it as default session manager. but nothing changed except that I was unable to change theme for kdm-kde4 either! so I reverted back to kdm, which I'm at least able to configure i...
Greate work guys, fast and beautiful, go on! I'm waiting for 4.1 release, omitting some minor problems. The menu is nice, I like it this way.
Why are you trying to keep something same as what you have used to? I personally prefer VTech TV to a command line like system, time of using console is over! please consider it...
