I hate to revive an old thread like this, but I have similar issues with this design and wonder if there are alternatives / work-arounds? The type of work I am doing requires discriminating, manipulating, and copying thousands of small files individually (one at a time) and the pop-up menu disrupts the workflow immensely. Using the keyboard shortcut is also very awkward because ctl is used for selecting multiple files. So for each file it is either extra keyboard taps or extra clicks to deselect...
