Hi I love divers KDE applications like Konqueror, or Koffice (did reappear in Testing and SID, Hurrah!), or Kate, or Kopete but not the complete KDE4 environment because my computers are to slow. It is about the same as Cygwin: the complete suite of Cygwin is only practicable on very power full PC's. But someone did distribute years ago a stand alone version of Magic point for windows environment with only 3 or 4 file from Cygwin and it did start very pretty and offer a best way to use this good...

Hi I think that Kopete is a real disease: it is not possible to start directly an installation from Kopete with operable plugins and codecs like in the perfectly working Mozilla browsers! I is a really poor and decevant result after 10 years development. I know idealists make the work. Hi my problem is a bit different: I also did install KDE4 on Gnome and after that the system did start again with commando line login. it is possible to login both: user and root. but you need to be root to start kdm. and in kdm you have to login again. there it is not allowed do login as root but only as user i would of course prefer to login only and directly in KDM what is to do for that? bye
