I use FlexiMusic Composer. Been very pleased with it. It is a good software for beginners and professionals, you may try to it.

The easiest program I've found is FlexiMusic Audio Editor. It's done everything I've thrown at it.

You shouldn't mount audio CDs. The mounting mechanism is built into the filesystem for that. I'm not even sure if it can be done.

You can split your Mp3 files by using any Mp3 editor or splitter. I used Mp3 Editor by FlexiMusic. Best perfomance of audio editing.....
