This is one of the major problems in computer programming. A brillent groupe of programmers work together to produce a great program.. I did something similar today I added an item to the "open with" box that does not exist and then checket the three boxes at the bottom. I hope someone will tell me how to delete item. Thanks
Well at last I have found my problem!! The screen driver on the mother board of a brand new factory built Compaq computer. I spent a whole day with Mugly XP trying it to allow me to install an ATI vidio card and disable the mother board card. I still don't understand why nobody on this forum tried to help, or even ask a question.
Isn't anyone @ KDE the least bit interested in addressing a serios problem????
I AM STILL HAVING THIS DAMM PROBLEM. Other people have had the same problem. I did not even start this thread!!! I have been working for oner 2 years rewriting my old commercial programs for release as Open Source programs. I have been using Qt and KDevelop. i DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO START OVER IN SOME OTHER SYSTEM. i have to keep a strip of desktop exposed so I can click "refresh desktop" about every 30 seconds or so WHEN EVER KDE writes somthing to the screen. No problem with my old slow ME box....

I responded with the requested snapshots, I did not have THE problem WITH Ubuntu 5.04. but I do with 5.10. I did not have the problem with Fedore core 3 but I did with core 4. I can't remember the earlier version, but now I am running KDE version 3.4.3. The problem rarely shows up if I am using a full screen application if at all. Right now I have not had any problems writing this reply until I moved the cursor down to bring up the "hidden" panel at the bottom of the screen. As soon as the panel...

I have been having this problem on one of my two computers. It shows up mostly as diagonal lines from the upper left corner of the screen but sometimes it is like the screen shot. A little history might help in solving the problem. It first showed up when I tried to install Fedora Core 4 on a Compaq RU5000US. Had no problem with core 3. I am having the same trouble. I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 5.10. with K3b version 0.12.2. if I skip the "verify" I get an OK on the writing, but I can't use the disk. I hope we gat some help on this problem.
I am having some strange lines showing up on my KDE desktop I have several images that displays the problem. One of which is "/home/pete/snapshot1.png". I am not sure how to put them into the message. Thanks for any help.

Well, I upgraded to Fedara. Same G.. D... problem plus a handful more. KDevelop dosen't work, Real audio dosen't work. The only thing that works is Knoppix. I am disgusted!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it. Still same problem. I am at a total loss.

Thanks for the reply. I had already set and cleared my Settings->Location Toolbar check box several times. It has no effect. I have gone into Settings->configure->Toolbars and messed around there with out any success or any more damage. I do not have a Settings->Hide Location Toolbar item. The extra tool bar toggles on/off ok, the bookmark tool bar also toggles ok, but comes up half height. I am running RH 7.3
