Left-handed mouse setup not stored

Hi! It happened to me that, after upgrading something, I started to have some troubles setting up the left-handed mouse. I found a thread in these forums, and found out it was sufficient to set it up manually with: Source code 1 xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1" The problem now is that the KDE Control Center cannot setup the left-handed mouse, and I cannot store this, so that, each time I reboot, I get the default right-handed mouse again. Is it possible to solve this issue so that I don't have to se...

Strange symbols in konqueror browsing some web pages

Hi everyone. I started using konqueror as a browser but I'm having some difficulties. Sometimes I have some strange symbols displayed instead of simple characters. I tried to change font settings, but nothing happened. I have this problem only on one of my systems. This is an example of what I see in same cases: ftp://luc4.homelinux.org/images/code.jpg. Is there anyone who knows what I should change to see the text? Thanks.

Dealing with icons

I don't know where it is taking the icon it actually uses, but I know it is not using the one I inserted in the set. I created the set as a tarball. Then I installed it from the kde control center. I see the set is in $KDEHOME/share/icons/. Inside it, I see my set. So, I have an icon in: $KDEHOME/share/icons/myset/AxA/kopete_all_away.png but that icon is not used. AxA means I have that icon for every icon size. Shouldn't that icon be used by kopete? Thanks for your help.

Dealing with icons

Yes, this I already did of course. If I replace an icon, such as the kopete icon, that icon is replaced correctly. Other icons, instead, are not replaced. I was looking for a guide explaining how to deal with this things, but I can't find any. I found one guide on icons, but that doesn't explain this part. I see there are some icon themes on kde-look.org which replace the kopete_all_away icon, and it seems these themes have a icon with that name in the directories. The problem is that it is not ...

Dealing with icons

This is ok. But, for instance, the away icon for kopete is named, I think, kopete_away. If I want to replace that particular icon, where should I go? I tried to put an icon with that name in the directory of a theme I'm making, but the icon is not used. kopete uses always the same icon as before, which is the default one I think.

Dealing with icons

Hi. I'm trying to change some icons for kde applications, but I'm finding it difficult to understand how it works. For instance, I would like to change icons used by kopete when it is in the systray. If I use an icon named kopete.png then that icon is changed, but if I set to away, the icon is changed and how can I know the name of the new icon used? This is only an example. How can someone know the name of an icon?

KDevelop and gui

Hi all. I'm following this guide to learn a little bit of kde programming. The problem is that this is qhat's written: "In the Automake Manager, in sigcreate (program in bin), right click on sigcreatedlg.ui and choose Subclass Widget... from the context menu that appears." I can't understand what this Automake Manager is, so I can't find this Subclass Widget window and I can't go on. Could you please explain me how I can go on? Thanks for any help.

RE: Menu icons size

Which menu? You're talking about every menu, or only the K menu? If you're talking about the K menu only, than you can follow the instructions written above.

Stretching icons

Yes, I know this is possible, but this will make every desktop icon larger. I wondered whether it was possible to stretch only a particular icon on the desktop just like you can do with gnome. Thanks anyway.

Stretching icons

Is it possible to stretch icons on the desktop as it is possible to do with gnome? I thought it wasn't but I saw something about it. Do someone know it? Thanks.

Menu icons size

I've already tried that, but the problem is that that way I only change the size of the K menu (let's say the 'start' button). I would like to change the size of the menu entries of all the menus, every menu of kde. I know it is possible because I did it through the starting conifg of kde, but now? Thanks anyway.

KDE Themes

I didn't know too, but if you read "how to install" right in kde-look.org you will know how to do it. There are different ways, it depends on what you are trying to install. Something has only to be added through the KDE control center, somthing else has to be compiled with ./configure, make, make install. It depends, but you will get more detailed informations in the site or directly in the files you downloaded (usually the install file). Hi.

Menu icons size

Hi all! I've been looking for the solution to this doubt for some days but there's nothing to do, so I try here too. Is it possible to change menu icons size? I mean, I know it is somehow possible 'couse I did it, but I don't know how to re-do it. When I first installed KDE I was shown a config window with some graphics options. There were some option buttons, and one of them regarded the large size of the icons in the menus. After some time I changed the theme selectin one in the control center...
