I downloaded the source for kopete 0.8.4 and successfully built it. ./configure make make install I then did a whereis kopete, and found it in /usr/bin which was the same location the old one was installed in, so I assumed it had been copied over the old one. So i went into KDE and ran it.. but in the about box it says it's version 0.8.0 Is the about box wrong? or has something gone wrong with the install? I'm new to linux... and i've relied on RPMs so far. I found a site that said I should use ...
