Kopete and knotify flashing taskbar

Hi, Using Kopete 0.7.3 on KDE 3.1.5 The good news is Settings -> Configure-Kopete -> Behaviour -> General -> Notifications -> check "Flash system tray on new message" The bad news is, this doesnt work for me.... Can anybody suggest what I might be doing wrong? Does this feature work for anybody else?
