Hi, To do that go to Control Center -> Peripherals -> Storage Media. Select "Unmounted Removable Medium", and chose the action "Do nothing" as default action. Do the same manipulation for the "Mounted Removable Media" This works fine on my computer. Regards

Hi, This is propoably because the usb drive is mounted with root permission, and you are logged as a simple user, so you can unmount the device. To change that : - search in which name your usb device is mounted. To do that type "mount" in a prompt. - in general cases, the name of the usb drive is /dev/sda1 - open the /etc/fstab file (with the root permission), and verifiy there are no line for your device (noline start with /dev/sda1 or the name of your device). Hi, To increase the size of the icons will appears when you click on the K button on the desktop : - open the kde control center (click on K menu and then on the control center icon). -click on "Apparence and Theme" and on "Fonts" on the left side of the window. - on the right side of the window : click on the "choose" button of the line called "Menu" - a new window will appears on the screen, and you can select the size of yours Kmenu icons. Hi, Do you want to run a program in console mode ? If yes, you can do that by pushing the following keys on your keyboard in the same time : Ctrl ALt F1. After that you are in console mode (you have to enter your login and password) and you can execute your program. Regards
Hi, I have discover something : If you don't want the automatically mounting of your usb device, you have to do that in the kde environment : - open Konqueror - select the icon called "storage media" on the left side. - your usb key must be shown on the window (on the right side). Then right click on your usb key and chose "Properties" - you can deselect the "automatically mounting" by left clicking on a check box if you want, changing the automatic mount point, and adding the Synchronous option...

My solution : I have listed the files in the following directory : /etc/xdg/menus/applications-merged : kde-essential.menu and kde-multimedia-music.menu /etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications-merged : kde-multimedia-music.menu I copy the file kde-esential.menu in /etc/xdg/menus/kde-applications-merged directory. I restart my session and I've got items in the kcontrol left size !!!! Bye.

Hello, I have a problem with my debian etch (4.0). I have lost the items which are normaly located on the Control Center Index (on the left side). How to restore these items? I don't understand why I've lost them. If it's not possible to restore the items, anyone could explain to me how to reduce the size of the Desktop icons (they are too big)?
