I still have not got a fix for this.
Hi, The Unicode standard includes some ligatures. The Unicode FAQ says that if a modern font has a ligature for two characters, such as "ff", it should form a ligature &xFB00; if present in the font. There are plenty of ligatures in Unicode. This would give an advantage over other operating systems. At least in the typographic realm.
Hi forum, I have a lot of contacts with given, additional, and family names in KAddressBook. The problem I am having is that KMail and other applications interfacing with the addressbook only uses my contact's given and family names. How can I make KAddressBook (and apps. interfacing with it) use full names in the given-additional-family format?
What about Ksvn and kdesvn? Non of them are any good. But still.
Hi forum, I cannot get KNetworkManager to find my wired nor wireless network card. They are installed and works perfectly fine! Just not with old KNetty' which insist that ‘No network device found.’ How do I fix this? Debian 4.0r1 ‘Etch’
Hi, In Gnome you can type Unicode characters by holding Ctrl + Shift, typing the Unicode hex, and releasing Ctrl and Shift. (Which by the way is the ISO-14755 way of doing it!) Is there a similar way of doing this in KDE? See KDE bug#103788. (Please vote!)
Hi, I want a news ticker panel, fetching news from news feed ("RSS") for KDE. Can someone recommend, or point me in the direction of some software that let me do this, please?
Hi, Where to look for information about features, and more that the development team are working on implementing in KDE 4? I am especially keen on a list of "what's happening" for each of the individual applications, and so on... Is there anything like that available somewhere?
HTML email is the work of evil. Stick with plain-text! RTF maybe...
I meant the upcoming Fedora 7 KDE. It is Fedora Core + Extra with KDE only packages.
...then there is Microsoft's deal with Novell... How does this impact OpenSuSE? Novell is OpenSUSE's main developer, and sponsor. Like it or not, they can indeed impact the course of the operating system. I used SUSE Linux Desktop Enterprise 10 for a while, but I found all it packages to be outdated (and I mean all of them!) Is this the case with OpenSuSE too?
I am afraid KMyMoney will not do me any good.
My finance manager, GnuCash runs really slow in KDE. I have used to use it under Gnome. It ran slow then too, but under KDE it runs really, really slow, and looks... Awful. Are there any good alternates to it for KDE?
Your last sentence says enough for me... I almost never successfully compile anything. And I am actually looking for a distribution for my new computer which currently are awaiting shipping from the Netherlands...
Is there no good distribution that just stick with KDE's defaults? And I think the OpenSuSE menu is aweful, by the way.
Hi, What is the best Linux distribution that ships with KDE? I have considered using KUbuntu, but I have heard that it is not a good KDE distribution, and something with it being so patched that it was not really KDE anymore or something... Can anyone recommend a good distribution? Please come with at least three arguments with your recommendation, screen shots, and links. Thanks in advance for helping me migrate to KDE.
Yea, I did. But I really do not like that site... It lists all kinds of applications, and does not focus on KDE applications as one could expect. Does Kopete support GnuPG encrypted chats? And how to configure and use that? (I have not found it)
Hi, I am looking for a XMPP/Jabber client for KDE written in Qt. I really like Gajim for Gnome, and I am looking for something similar for KDE. I need a good user interface, XMPP only, GnuPG encryption of messages, and fast file transfer would be grate.
Hi, I just filed bug #141519 at KDE Bugs, requesting that Konqueror would detect, notify the user, and allow her to import contact details found in hCards to KAddressBook. - from The Web Design Journal Please vote for this feature at KDE Bugs, or suggest possible implementation methods!
