When I open Konqueror to browse my local filesystem I always get this error: Cannot find parent item file:///home in the tree. Internal error. I didn't used to get it and a recent update broke it - any ideas what it is or how to fix it? I'm using Kubuntu - I already posted on the Kubuntu forums but noone has responded. Presumably this isn't a common occurence. Thanks
Read the FAQ on the kmymoney site.
Which PDAs work well with kmail (and contacts etc) in terms of synchronisation? Thanks
Why does kmail word wrap at 78 characters? Why doesn't it just wrap to the window? I know I can disable this, but then a long sentence scrolls of the side of the window. This is odd behaviour.
Is anyone else having a problem with Juk not remembering the volume level that I choose? I load Juk and it's always at full volume. I then change the volume in Juk to something more manageable. THe next time I run Juk it's always at full.
Why are RSS feeds part of Kontact and not Konqueror? I don't really have a problem with this, but I'm not keen on having Kontact loaded with RSS feeds. I would have thought it would be more appropriate in Konq. Still, it's a cool app and I've just started using it.
I'm running Kubuntu with an SBLive. I can only play one audio source so if I'm playing an MP3 using Amarok and something else happens that uses sound, Amarok will suddenly stop and say: oss device is already in use I've tried Arts and the same thing happens (different message) - Amarok will stop playing. What sound engine under Linux plays more than one source?
Anyone know of a package that lets you design a simple integrated circuit and then feed an audio sample into it? Thanks
Cool thanks! That should definitely make it easier to use apps from the console.
Is it possible to configure KDE apps to not spew out hundreds of lines of warnings and messages when run from the console? It's very annoying and rather unprofessional methinks. I sometimes run apps from the console as it's quicker to type the app's name than navigate the menu. Well it is for non-KDE apps. Thanks

Not bad, but they seriously need colour.
Does kspread read or write Microsoft Excel files at all? I tried File Save As and File Export, but there were no options there to use this format. Thanks
There's too much wasted screen space - the main image is too big and the icons along the top of the screen are too big. I think 15-20% of the vertical screen space is wasted.
Maybe you have to re-configure the anti-aliasing settings again through the Control Panel. Maybe the upgrade reset your options.
Yes I have looked there. I downloaded a bunch of icon sets but nothing grabs me.
Where are the eyeball-popping icon sets for KDE? All I see are icons that either look they have 16 colours and originated in Windows 3.1, or they're all cartoony and should be on a Children's cartoon (Nuvola) etc. Where are the high quality icons that would make a graphic designer cry tears of joy or make a Mac OSX user jealous? Yeah this is a flame, so bring on the onslaught! I'm kidding, I'm just looking for the best icon sets. I haven't found one I like yet.
I would prefer to separate Konqueror into two products.
Quoted Original von m4ktub Another suggestion... When I used Fedora Core 1 I managed software with apt-get. There is also a site dedicated to promote KDE in the Red Hat/Fedora. They have an apt-get (an now yum too) repository and they correct some issues of KDE in the Fedora platform (I think). Visit http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/ and try to update KDE from them. Their stable KDE is 3.3.1 so you also get the latest KDE ;-) Hey thanks for the info. I downloaded Fedora Core 3 Test 3, which in...
