is there any way that you can get to the kopete main window? if so, there are 2 checkboxes in the "behaviour" tab of the "configure Kopete" menu item which are "show icon in system tray" and "start hidden" (or words to that effect). if not, have a look in ~/.kde/share/config/kopeterc for the relevant options. you will need to restart kopete for changes made there to take effect
I don't know how much linux you've done, so i will assume you want to know what x is. X is short for X-windows. it is the program/libraries that allow your computer to show applications on the screen (very simply). Linux uses XFree86 (a version of x-windows - see http://www.xfree.org/ ) If it can't find the xfree "includes" that means (again, very simply) that it cannot find the libraries that allow applications to interface with it. I also had this problem: Kopete connected to MSN yesterday fine, although recently I have experienced random disconnections. Today, it won't connect at all. Once it got to the stage of showing my online contacts, but immediately disconnected, and I know that MSNP10 is now around (just checked MSNP docs). Is Kopete MSNP10 compatible yet?
