Any ideas anyone? Surely at least someone uses these advanced khotkeys features?
I've had to overcome several minor GUI quirks in getting khotkeys to work and it mostly does work now except for the use of the NOT function which I presume is to exclude specified windows from being activated by a group of predefined gestures. I have set it up so as to exclude konqueror from the "Global - Windows" group in which contains input actions applicable to all windows by way of their similarity in keyboard shortcuts and functions between applications. Konqueror-specific input actions a...
Ah I tink the problem lies in the "Quit" key shortcut which isn't set in most apps. After manually setting that to Alt+Ah I tink the problem lies in the "Quit" key shortcut which isn't set in most apps. After manually setting that to Alt+F4 it works. This is quite weird though since pressing the keyboard shortcut alt+F4 manually works for each window but the gestures won't without assigning the shortcut to quit. Should be fixed though.. took some frusrating hours figuring that out.. ThanksF4 it ...
Hi I'm not imitating windows for the sake of it.. it's just what i'm used to and i don't see a point of changing it. The problem is that i can set mouse gestures for practically any function to do with closing a window. Closing a tab(Ctrl+W) works fine as do all other gestures i've set under the input actions in kcontrol. I've even tried alt+esc as an alternative to alt+f4 for closing windows and tried setting that as a mouse gesture to no avail. Can anyone else reproduce this? Thanks in advance...
I think u've misinterpreted me.. apologise for my poor explanation. I want to set up a mouse gesture that will do alt+F4 i.e close the window but I'm not sure why it doesn't work when all other mouse gestures do. The settings are in accessibility>input actions. Can anyone confirm this? Thx in advance!
Hi! I'm not sure why but i can't seem to set Alt+F4 as a mouse gesture from kcontrol>accessibility . Other gestures work fine though. I asked some people and it was reproducible. Is this a bug? Thanks in advance!
Hi! I have trouble getting side buttons to work in konqueror. After some experimenting, I find out it's currently binded to horizontal scrolling. How do I bind the key to back/forward? In opera web browser, i can input under the mouse gestures settings, button6 etc. for any specific tasks. Is there any equivalent in KDE? Thanks in advance?
Hi! Those who have used Suse might know what im talking about.. see pic. attached. I find that feature really useful especially if u're trying the tonnes of open source software currently available in repos.. What do u guys think? P.s I'm not referring to Beagle search thingy; I don't really find a need for such a software if u organise ur stuff adequately..
Hi there! I think I've the exact same mouse; http://www.a4tech.com/en/product2.asp?CI…ID=8&MNO=WOP-35 and have trouble getting all the mouse buttons to work. Pleas help! Thx in advance
I found out a workaround on this problem by enabling translucency setting in KDE. This is what I did to my xorg.conf. Does KDE support transparency and other visual effects provided by the new composite extension to X.org? Yes! An exciting new feature for KDE 3.4 is support for the new X composite extension. This allows for effects such as translucency and drop shadows for all windows, easily configurable through KWin's configuration dialog. This requires you to be using X.org version 6.8.0 or n...
Hi! I've been having this weird bug. When I try to drag a box on desktop or konqueror, it lags. The bigger the box, the more lag it is. I'm sure it's not due to hardware as glxgears give me ard 10 000 fps. I've tried using both YAST's drivers and nvidia's legacy drivers to no avail. Anyone has any idea on how to fix this. I heard some ppl say it's some problem with the rubber band patch... No idea what it means. Thx in advance!
Hi all! Qn is on the subject. Just to clarify sth here.. the 'quick launch bar' is NOT the one with the icons the same size as the KDE start button but the one that u must manually add(in most distros) through right clicking an empty space on the taskbar then going to add>applet<quick launcher which basically is similar to the quick launch bar in windows with icons spanning 2 rows. Thx in advance!
Hi All! I can't seem to figure out how to configure khotkeys to accept mouse gestures as in the one used in opera like hold the right mouse button and click the left mouse button to go back and vice versa. The menu only gives my the option to press the left mouse button and draw sth. Moreover, I tried the default mouse gestures in Konqueror but can't seem to get them to work. Am I missing sth? I would like KDE to have a mouse gestures configuration panel as in opera which is highly and easily cu...
