have you tired in Konsole mount /dev/cdrom cdrom is in italic because you might have the cdrom in a different name
well you need to install certain files on your computer in order to get your computer to look like that. To get any new look you need theme files and so different stuff and load them on your KDE. try http://www.kde-look.org/ this website has that stuff and they come with read me docs that tell you how to install it.

Hey, I just installed Quake 3 Arena demo on my computer and the graphics is really laggy. I tired playing around with the game settings but it doesn't do much. umm is there a why to configure the graphic porperties on the Kde or in Konsole so i can speed up things.

Well i think to must use shell to run the installer. open shell go to the directory it is located in and type in the file name i think to must be root to run the installer.
also open the file /etc/fstab and tell me what is it written in the file
well you might want to find software from websites like http://www.kde-apps.org/ also a lot of programs come with a installation guide if you don't get the guide then i guess to might want to read a tutorial which to can find probably on this forum or other websites here is a tip* if it comes as a rpm then you can simply install with a program called kpackage which comes with KDE if it is open source then uncompress and use shell and go into the directory and type ./configure make make install t...

Yes this is a very n00bie question. But I have Recently installed a new cd drive in my computer the problem is that when i try to mount it, the computer says "not a valid block device". Now if someone can give me the steps in shell to configure the drive. thanks in Advance
hi i have a problem i have a graphics that supports open GL but KDE is not configured yet. so i went on to Konsole and try to see if it is enabled i typed glxinfo | grep direct and it gave me direct rendering : no So now i need to change it so it works with open gl anything will help like konsole commands or configuration by using KDE. thank in advance
