kscd and audio cd

How does one change the default kscd auto play when audio cds are inserted? I've seen many threads on this issue, but no solution. I want Amarok or Kaffeine to be the default player. KDE version: 3.5.8 System: Linux Release: 2.6.18.8.tex5 (PCLinuxOS 2007) Machine: i686

Left handed mouse control

Is this a KDE problem or is it PCLOS? I have tried changing the mouse in the "configure your computer" but there is no change in the hardware.

Left handed mouse control

twm is not installed, so I tried drak3d and it wouldn't start up. I did a file search for x.conf but it was not found.

mouse problems

Yes, I should be able to change the mouse to left handed in kcontrol, however nothing changes when I select left handed. It shows that I have made the change. This just happened since installing KDE 3.5.6 included with PCLOS 2007 TR3. xmodmap doesn't have an effect either. Output from terminal session: [root@localhost ~]# xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1" Warning: Only changing the first 3 of 9 buttons. Attachment is snapshot of the kcontrol > peripherals > mouse

Left handed mouse control

I installed PCLOS 2007 TR3, KDE 3.5.6 is the gui. I have tried to get my mouse to switch to left handed. Nothing changes. The prior KDE 3.5.5 didn't have this problem. Do you have a bug in this module? Is there another way to assign the buttons? It is very difficult for me to use a right handed mouse configuration.

kde 3.5.5 control center

I am having the same kde control center menu missing problem. I tried everything I could find on the subject, yet nothing changes. I have no idea what caused this to happen. Application: kcontrol Version: 3.5.5 Linux (i686) release 2.6.16.27.tex1.lve Compiler: gcc version 3.3.1 (Mandrake Linux 9.2 3.3.1-2mdk) When I tried to Launch Bug Report Wizard, I receive the following message: "Could not launch browser: Cound not find service kfmclient"

Multimedia keys

It controls "kmix", at least it does in my configuration. If you start "kmix", display the mixer, then select "Settings", then "Configure kmix" you can "Dock to Panel" and "Enable system tray volume control" and it should always be enabled. In order for your audio keys to function, you need to select a compatible keyboard. In PCLinuxOS there are two places that need to be set for the multimedia keyboard to work, start the "PCLinuxOS Control Center" found under the "Configuration" menu, then sele...

how to control volume inc/dec amounts

How can I set the the number of increase/decrease steps with each press of the volume increase/decrease controls on my Logitech multimedia keyboard? It is defaulted to 10, and I'd like to have more precise control. There is too much of a decible difference with each press, so it is nearly impossible to get a comfortable setting without also adjusting the speaker volume control to compensate. Please excuse me if I am asking about something that is already documented, but I cannot find an answer. ...

KDE Screen Saver missing

I installed PCLinuxOS on Sunday, Nov 5. This installed KDE 3.5.5, the kernel is 2.6.16.27.tex1.lve. Everything seemed to be working fine initially. Something has changed and now there are no Screen Savers listed at all in the KDE control center. I have tried reinstalling screensavers, but nothing changes. How can I get these back? Any ideas as to what would cause them to be removed? The Screen Savers were there after the initial installation. I am not sure what I could have done to remove them. ...

RE: kmix global shortcut settings

I have since loaded PCLinuxOS to give a try, I am seriously considering deleting Suse from my system because of Novell's deal with the evil empire. Everything is working perfectly in PCLinuxOS except for the screensaver. However, back to your question, the volume increase key registers a key press when I run XEV, it returns the proper keycode. I don't recall whether I tried to assign another function to the key. This is no longer an issue at this point. If I consider going back to Suse, I will t...

kmix global shortcut settings

After some time of searching for the procedure to set my multimedia keys for volume control, I stumbled upon using Global Shortcuts. I set the volume controls, and while the volume decrease and mute keys function, the volume increase does not. What do I need to do to get this corrected. Thanks in advance for input.
