Hi, I developed a plugin for checking the connection status via SuSEs smpppd. The advantage is that a computer behind a gateway running the SMPPPD can determine if the gateway is connected to the internet and therefore there is also an internet connection for the computer behind the gateway. The shipped ConnectionStatusPlugin checks for a gateway at all. This is not enough to ensure there is a internet connection in an dialup network.
