KDE 3.5.7 kcmshell does not work in adminstration settings

I installed openSUSE 10.3 (new install) and I have a strange problem in KDE (3.5.7). When I go to Personal Settings -> System Administration -> Login Manager, I click on Administrator Mode than the window changes into "Loading" and a little window pops up where I type the root-password. Where does KDE store file-associations?

I'm using openSUSE 10.2 and KDE 3.5.5. When I click on an ogg-file in konqueror, Amarok will start to play this file. Ofcourse this is not what I want, like everybody else I want that XMMS should be started instead. (forgive me my sarcasm, I like XMMS much much more than Amarok) I changed the settings in Personal Settings -> KDE Components -> File Associations -> audio -> x-vorbis. The normal procedure to compile a program is: ./configure make make install (as root) Usually these three command's should be enough. I never did a "make check", I don't know what it is, I'm not an experienced programmer...

Hi, Because of the loginproblem with msn, I had to compile Kopete from source. My distro is SuSE 9.2 (with KDE 3.3). First I experienced the errors in docbook described in the thread "[kopete] problems building" by Zacuke, look at his thread for a solution or (like I did) simply remove the names the compiler complains about from docbook. Altough the configure-script said everything was ok, the compiler was complaining about missing jpeg libs, I had to install them first. I had also some other er...
