kde4 won't start with remote-mounted home directories (dbus)

Is your home directory exported with the "no_root_squash" option on the server? see "man exports" for explanation.

KSIM will not run

I'm running KDE 3.5.9 from Kubuntu 8.04, so YMMV, but... to run ksim here I right-click the panel at the bottom of the screen and go "Add New Panel" --> "Ksim" and thereafter it pops up when I move the mouse pointer to the bottom right corner of the screen.

Do other people see this effect? Is this a bug? I can't see anything similar in the bugtracker. If it is a bug, then in what? Konqueror? kmplayer? javascript? If I disable Javascript for the BBC News domain, only one embedde...

kaddressbook: public-private-confidential

There is an option to make contacts "Public", "Private" or "Confidential". What effect does this setting have? I was hoping that "Private" contacts might be omitted from synchronisation by multisynk, but this does not seem to be the case.
