How to focus some window programmatically (e.g. from shell script)?

I need some way to focus an existing Kate window with known process ID. Is there some command to do it from shell? I tried some DCOP commands, but none of them did it. I'm using KDE 3.5.9 (at KUbuntu 8.04).
