Hello. I absolutely love KDE4.1. I installed it onto my Ubuntu but it had some hiccups. Same for OpenSUSE. Is there a Linux distribution where KDE4.1 is part of the standard build? I.e. where I install the distro and it already has KDE4.1? Or where it automatically upgardes to KDE4.1 without adding extra repos?
I am told that there is no way of adding a button in my toolbar which quickly returns me to a clear desktop. I have been told that I need to use the Plasma Dashboard which is activated using CTRL-F12. Fair enough. However, when I am using my mouse it is often clumbersome to have to press two keys. Is there a way of adding a shortcut to the toolbar which launches the Plasma Desktop? Thank you.
Hello, I am totally new to KDE and just installed KDE4.1 on Ubuntu. I've tried to get help at the Ubuntu forum, but no luck. My primary problem is that I cannot adjust my monitor contrast. Normally I press Fn and Up or Down to adjust contrast on my Dell. It works in Gnome but not in KDE. Additionally my volume buttons do not work, although my Next/Previous Track Multimedia buttons do work. And help appreciated.
