slow refresh of program windows etc

lets check it: you wanted me to replace "nvidia" by "nv" in the "driver" variable, right? Section "Device" # Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate Identifier "nvidia" Driver "nvidia" Option "DigitalVibrance" "1" Option "NoLogo" "1" Option "NvAGP" "1" Option "UseEDIDFreqs" "FALSE" Option "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE" Option "ModeValidation" "NoEdidModes" #VideoRam 131072 BusID "" EndSection when i do this (xorgcfg did that automatically after i selected having a nvidia-card), x doesn't start, but compla...

cups totally destroyed (by kde printer setup??)

indeed copying cupsd.conf.default to cupsd.conf repaired cups, but still i can't print complete pages... print jobs are not finished, it always stops printing somewhere before the end of the page and some minutes later it tries to print the rest, but without the missing part of the page...

slow refresh of program windows etc

how can i remove them, without destroying something? i will only have 640x480 right? there were big problems with configuring this thing (see no choice of refreshrate in kde display menu and http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-535636-highlight-.html), i'm really anxious that something goes wrong again...

slow refresh of program windows etc

cups totally destroyed (by kde printer setup??)

hi! i used the latest stable version of cups with esp-ghostscript to print on my okipage8w. (gentoo /kde 3.5) it only printed half pages (sometimes more sometimes less, depending on the amount of data on the page), so i searched for setttings to cure this. i changed the optien "RIP-Buffer" in the "filter settings" in "server settings" of the kcontrol printer setup. now everything is a mess: the printer doesn't work at all, cups doesn't listen to localhost:631 although i emerged it for several ti...

no choice of refreshrate in kde display menu

that's what i've written in the very first post: in this menu i can only select one frequency per resolution. that does not at all comprehend the possibilities of the hardware. in windows for example i can select 60, 70 and 72 hz (when only the supported modes are shown) and in don't want linux at all to use 75 hz.

no choice of refreshrate in kde display menu

... the manual says the same as the xorg.conf: configure the two variables (i think it was horizsync and vertrefresh) and go. but kde ignores the values i set there completely.

no choice of refreshrate in kde display menu

hi! i would like to lower the refreshrate for my tft (that reduces signal corruption caused by my kvm switch...), but i have only one refreshrate for each resolution in the menu. for example, i can only use 75Hz with 1280*1024, or only 85Hz with 1024*768. the grafics adapter is a nvidia geforce f52 i think, and the monitor is a viewsonic tft. in windows, it works with every refreshrate i choose. changing the xorg.conf seems to have no effect, i changed the rate range, and also set it explicitely...
