Running an application without it in the taskbar...

Hello everyone! I was just wondering if there was any way to run an application but not have it show up in the taskbar. Also, is there some way to not apply styles to a certain application. i.e. - No window border?

Thank you very much for your time.

There's the '--skiptaskbar' option for kstart and there are others that may be interesting for you. (Say kstart --help on the command line to get more info.)
For example:
kstart --skiptaskbar konsole

Starting with KDE 3.3 there's also a new configuration dialog in the control center that's about per-window configuration.
Desktop -> Window-Specific Settings
I can't help you with that though as I haven't used it yet...

In the Window Specific settings you can choose among other things options like "Skip Pager" and "Skip Taskbar".

You can choose what windows this affects (window class + window type + title + host + etc) but this is still window specific. If an applications has lots of windows I think that it's best to use what cmbofh said.

Cool thanks guys. I can't do any of the Window specific things because I'm still 3.2.
