Can't Change Display Resolution

I have a 19 inch Wide Screen monitor that can run at 1440x900, but I can't get KDE to show that resolution.

The xorg.conf file is correct. It shows my correct monitor as well as resolution.

But when I try to make the changed in the Configure Desktop utility's Display section I don't get the choice of my wide screen resolution the highest is 1024x768.

RE: Can't Change Display Resolution

Sorry folks out there if this is a noddy problem, but I am struggling with the same......
Have tried change-res and fix-res with no luck and screen=1280x1024 at boot.

Anyone who can take a moment to help hertz60 would probably be helping both of us!

Cheers

Does this help?

Please test this option.
Option "ModeValidation" "NoDFPNativeResolutionCheck"

Thanks,

Do you still have the problem?

Have you tried 915resolution? I don't have an Intel card so I cannot comment on it, but it often seems to be the solution.

Have you tried creating a new modeline entry for xorg.conf and using it? If not, run this in Konsole:

Source code

1
 gtf 1440 900 60

Add the resulting line to the Monitor section and make sure it's listed in the Display section. You can change the name if necessary.

RE: Can't Change Display Resolution

With the update of OpenSuse 10.2 to 10.3, the problem was solved.
