Kontacts and LDAP issue, no results from exchange 5.5 query

I'm running KDE 3.4.2 on Mandriva 2006. Using KDE Kontacs I created an anonymous, no authentication ldap connection to an exchange server 5.5 directory. When I query a contact I get no results when I know I should get a few records. When I connect with outlook using the same settings it works perfectly. The server is set up to allow anonymous connections. I tried changing the port but I got the same results. I’ve implemented a few ldap clients over the last few months and this is the first time I’ve had this ‘no results’ issue. This is my first attempt connecting a KDE client. Any ideas as to why I’m not getting any results from my contact queries.

Thanks ;)

RE: Kontacts and LDAP issue, no results from exchange 5.5 query

For what it' s worth, I can tell you it works. The way to go is:
Addresses -> Add -> LDAP (I am translating from Dutch, so it may be a bit different);
Give it a name, set the ip of the exchangeserver. no dn, the rest dependns on how you give access to the exchange server (authorization and so on).

Then, and this did the trick: go to edit attributes, and then in templates choose: outlook, then ok and there you go!

For work
with ms exchange I know many good softwares, but once no one of theirs
couldn't aid me. I applied for a help to the Inet. Luckily there I took
notice of a tool, which quickly settled my trouble and should be good
solution for some complicated situations too -
recover edb file.
