Control Centre/Peripherals/Printers/Admin mode font problem

I am having a problem with
Control Centre/Peripherals/Printers/Admin mode

When I select admin mode I enter the root password and the window comes up but all the text is displayed as odd sympbols as if some funny font has been selected. How do |I get my usual display back.
