Kopete - Disable UTF-8 ?

Hi,
If i send messages to others using ICQ5 or Gaim, they only recieve html Code, for example if i send an "&", my partner wuill recieve "&" instead...

That is really annoying - I would like to know how to disable that, i use Kopete 0.10.2 from Kde 3.4.1 on Mandriva Cooker.


One more thing:

Where can i activate Buddy icons, so that i see others and where can i add my own Icon ?
