Where can I buy games for Linux, for example Soldier of Fortune? Or do I have to compile it with wine?

I kind of thought that proprietary software was unwanted
by Linux users... Am I the only one that thinks like this

I don't think there's such a thing as "the" Linux user. There are all kinds of different opinions on OpenSource software and reasons for using Linux.
For me it's nothing to be dogmatic about. Neverwinter Nights is a game I bought, for example. On the other hand, I appreciate everything Linux, KDE, ... do for me (or I wouldn't be posting here).
