Providing LDAP-Credentials in KAddressBook

Hi,

I have a question concerning the usage of KAddressbook in conjunction with LDAP:

All addresses of my company are stored in an LDAP-Server that needs authentification (i.e. login and password) prior to showing any data. Anonymous login (as provioded by KAddressBook) is not a solution, as I cannot see any data if i do not provide my username and password.
At the moment i use the complete KDE-PIM (KMail, KAddressBook, KOrganiser and KPilot), but not having the addresses at my disposal is quite a hindrance.
AFAIK Ximian's evolution provides possibilities for credentials with LDAP, but I don't want to switch to evolution, 'cause i like the KDE solution (and its integration into the desktop) far better. :D

Is there a solution to this problem? Are there plans to solve it in the (not too far) future?

Any help would be much appreciated!

thanx a lot in advance

Bernhard

I don't have LDAP so I can't test or help.
If I add a LDAP resource in control center -> kde components->addressbook it asks me for user and password.

I suggest you ask on the kde-pim mailinglist, the developers over there sure know what it can do now and what will be able in KDE3.2
