KDE 3.3.0 Freeze at logout

Everytime when I try to finish the current KDE session the system freezes and I have to push the reset button and to boot into linux again.

Checking logfiles gives no clue for this behavior. Removing /.kde and complete reinstall after purging every kde and x-related configuration file leads to freeze again. Does anybody have an idea?

I am using debian unstable, xfree86 4.3.0 and a Radeon 7000 graphics adapter.

KDE 3.3 freeze at logout - Problem solved

Thanks for your hint. .xsession-errors contained a lot of errors and messages but nothing related to the problem.

In the meanwhile I found a post in the bug-database which blames arts/alsa for this behaviour (77608). After disabling the alsa soundsystem and replacing it with jackd the problem was gone. Everything works fine now.
