computer freezes

Alright, I'm in need of help. I just installed YellowDog Linux on my iMac, everything went fine. But, all of the problems have been when I used KDE.
I'll type startx, it'll startup, then about 20-30min, my optical mouse light will go out, and my keyboard no longer works. Then I'll have to do a force reboot(push the side button). I'll run the check, and it'll pass.

I've noticed when I start up KDE, then logout, there be these errors.

[code:1]libpng warning: incomplete compressed datastream in ICCP chunk[/code:1]

Also
[code:1]Gecko: 1156 libgnomecvfs - CRITICAL ** file gnome-vfs-mime on line 929 (get_value_reall): assertion `!does_string_contain_cps (mime_type) failed.[/code:1]

I'm running the default installation(nothing special done). Kernel is 2.4.22-f

KDE is 2.2, or earlier.
XFree86 is 4.3.0
Any help is much appreciated.

BTW, I hope this is in the right forum.

Regards
iMac G3 400MHZ
256MB Ram
10GB ATA HD
ATI Rage 128
Mac OS 10.1.5 & YellowDog Linux 3.0.1

RE: computer freezes

Maybe you should have a look at /var/log/messages (you mus be root to view the log). It'll surely provide you with useful information about those mouse + keyboard crashes. 8)
