konstruct errors (kde 3.1 on RH 8.0)

Hi there,

After about 24 hours of toiling away, attempting to compile kde 3.1 on RedHat 8.0, konstruct has come to a halt with the following errors:

make[5]: *** [libkscan_la.all_cpp.lo] Error 1
make[5]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.1/libkscan'
make[4]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[4]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.1/libkscan'
make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.1'
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics/work/kdegraphics-3.1'
make[1]: *** [build-work/kdegraphics-3.1/Makefile] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/src/konstruct/kde/kdegraphics'
make: *** [dep-../../kde/kdegraphics] Error 2

Is this a major error, and of so, how do I get round it?

Thanks for this!

cheers,
Alasdair

Depends on if you have to use Kooka. And why do people never post the relevant bug information before the long "leaving directory because of error" part?

Well, I don't have to use kooka (I'd never heard of it until just now.) And the reason I didn't post the relevant bug was that I don't know exactly what to look for in the many lines of output of the compilation process.

Sorry about that! For me, computers are like cars: I can drive them, but when something goes wrong I'm all at sea.

cheera and thanks,
