KDE 4+ Praise and Constructive Suggestions

In the past I have never been a KDE fan but I cant help but admire the direction and vision that this project is taking on. Naturally the goal would be an environment where widgets and functions are drag and drop compatible between panels, apps, menus and the desktop. What I would like to see though is widgets moving with a key eg. Super+Left mouse to drag a widget from a panel to the desktop or vice versa. I would also like to see visual feedback eg. icons moving to make space while I'm dragging a widget from the desktop to a panel. Another very useful thing would be making app windows containers and have the menus (File, Edit, Help etc..) and buttons (minimize, maximize, close) be separate widgets so you can lay it out in any config and perhaps emulate the functionality of any OS you desire. Finally, I would like to see a conglomerate of the desktop and dash on the desktop(ie. coexistence of widgets, files and folders) even if desktop icons dont show up when the dash is brought up. Thanks and keep up the good work.

SVG

Hello guys,

do you know the Microsoft stuff WPF? Yeah, Yeah i know  ... i can imagine what some guys are thinking now, but put prejudice aside. I like the concept and i think it's great. Development of UI components is easy and things get done very quick. Imagine something like that in Kde! Imagine, you can describe your UI elements with SVG. You get all the benefits of scalable vector graphics with beautiful gradients, colours and animations. Is there something like that already under development? I would like to see it. I think you KDE guys do the right thing! Keep looking forward!
