[Kopete] Telling me my MSN password is wrong

Whenever I boot up, Kopete tells me that my MSN password is wrong, however I checked kwallet and it is saved correctly. I type my password in the box and it happens again. It will sometimes tell me my passwordi s wrong for upwards of 10 times before it connects. Sometimes it will never connect and I'll just give up.

Kopete version 0.12.5
KDE version 3.5.7
Distro: Kubuntu 7.04 (Feisty)

RE: [Kopete] Telling me my MSN password is wrong

I have the same problem. I don't use KWallet though. But each time I enter the password and click remember it forgets it. If I go into the settings and manually add it it forgets it the next time. This happens with Jabber, AIM, MSN and Yahoo.

I logged a bug with KDE on this. Seems if you have some special characters in your password (such as an exclamation mark (!), the password isn't saved.

Trying briefly changing your password to something simple and trying again

RE: [Kopete] Telling me my MSN password is wrong

I started having the same problem after a recent update via Synaptic from the PCLinuxOS repositories. It's not an issue of capslock or special characters. I do not use KWallet so that's not the problem either.

I've switched to the aMSN messenger client until the Kopete problem is solved. It sucks to have to do that.
