I'm not sure if this is a Kopete issue or if it's something wrong with Gentoo/portage but here's my problem... I'm using Gentoo and have recently migrated over to the split KDE 3.4 ebuilds. I've got the kopete-3.4.2 package installed. After reinstalling Kopete with the new ebuilds, when I first tried to bring up the settings dialog, it would complain about not being able to find kcm_kopete_accountconfig.so. It turned out that all the libraries installed by kopete were placed in /usr/kde/3.4/lib/kde3, but it was looking for them in /usr/lib/kde3 so I copied all the .so and .la files into there. That got the settings dialog to work but now when I try to add an AIM account in the wizard, I get an error saying, "Cannot load the AIM protocol plugin." Doing `equery files kopete | grep aim` gives me:
/usr/kde/3.4/lib/kde3/kopete_aim.la
/usr/kde/3.4/lib/kde3/kopete_aim.so
/usr/kde/3.4/share/services/aim.protocol
/usr/kde/3.4/share/services/kopete_aim.desktop
[and a whole bunch of .png's]
So kopete_aim.la and kopete_aim.so now exist there and also in /usr/lib/kde3 since I copied them along with all the other libraries. What about that aim.protocol file? Does the error I'm getting mean it's not finding that or is it the .so file? Or am I just missing some other package? Where should I put the .protocol file? Is Kopete using some environment variables that I don't have set correctly?
Thanks in advance!
