KDE 3.4 desktop icon position

I can't get(force) KDE to remember icons position on desktop.

I tried "save session" manually and automatically. It just don't work. When I log in icons are messed up on desktop.

Thank you.

SuSE 9.2 KDE 3.4.0

RE: KDE 3.4 desktop icon position

I am not sure about the reason of the problem but can it be that some "[" or "]" are present in the name of the applications/icons on the desktop?
I've observed a similar problem having an app name containing these two characters.
Ultimately you may have a look into ~/Desktop/.directory

Ciao

Eh,

Control Center -> Appearance & Themes -> Background -> Advanced Options -> Width for icon text (set to 90, was auto or something...)

Logged out logged in & icons on their places

Don't ask me why ( I found advice somewhere on Internet) ?(

Greetings

RE: Eh,

hi, i'm getting the same, all my icons appear to be messed up, i've tryed to change this setting:
Control Center -> Appearance & Themes -> Background -> Advanced Options -> Width for icon text (set to 90, was auto or something...)
without any luck, after this i've rebooted the system and all it seems to be OK, but now, after one day after that the icons are all messed up again, this is really anoying :|
