Automatic filing when reply sent?

Some years ago, in my pre-Linux days, I used an email client which did most, but not all, of what KMail does. It had one handy feature which I haven't found any way to replicate in KMail, and I'm wondering if anyone can suggest any way of doing it - or whether I should file a bug requesting it as a new feature! The feature (at its simplest) was this: if I had mail in my inbox, and replied to it, the original mail was transferred to a 'filed' folder. This could be fully automatic (unprompted) or ...

Kopete - missing LibXext?

Situation: trying to compile the latest Kopete on a new Mandriva 2005LE x86-64 installation. Configure ends saying it can't find a working libXext. slocate libXext reveals /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6 /usr/X11R6/lib/libXext.so.6.4 /usr/X11R6/lib64/libXext.so.6 /usr/X11R6/lib64/libXext.so.6.4 What is Configure looking for, why can't it find it, and how can I make it find it? Thanks for any help.....

[kopete] No more MSN :(

Quoted Originally posted by Dark_Knight Kopete keeps asking for my password and as myself and others have already pointed out verified is correct as it works with other chat messengers (MSN Messenger on Windows, aMSN Messenger on Linux/OSX) as well when logging in to Hotmail directly from Firefox. I realize people are saying simply install the SVN version but I prefer a stable release not one that should be classified as Alpha, Beta or RC. .... We should remember that just because a home user o...

[kopete] No more MSN :(

Dark Knight - you say you are using the latest version, but also that it stopped working on Friday. So you were using it before Friday. So it can't be the latest version, which has just been updated to deal with Microsoft's latest changes. Sheesh. Have you read the rest of this topic, or did you just jump in with both feet, ignoring everyone else?

Menu problems with KDE3.4 and Mandriva Linux

A search didn't bring up any reference to any other discussions here about this one.... Situation: running Mandriva 2005LE, with KDE3.4 installed from RPMs in the 'thac' repository. Most things going well, but there is a persistent issue with menus. The symptoms: 1. Most KDE applications have duplications in menus. I'm using Konqueror to post this message: the menu bar across the top reads: Location Edit View Go Bookmarks Tools Settings Window Help Bookmarks .. so Bookmarks is duplicated. Within...

[kopete] No more MSN :(

Quoted Originally posted by Dark_Knight I have KDE 3.4 installed with the latest Kopete 0.10 version but noticed since Friday I can't log in to MSN through Kopete as it keeps asking for my password. I've verified on another workstation that's using Windows running MSN Messenger that my password is correct and I can even log in to Hotmail but not with Kopete. Does anyone know if Microsoft has changed either the MSN protocol or MSN server? That's what the whole of this topic has been about :-) Ba...

[kopete] No more MSN :(

Quoted Originally posted by MamiyaOtaru Quoted The fix will be in KDE 3.4.1 which is planned for release within the next three weeks. That is exactly why I was dismayed when Kopete became an official part of KDE. Sometimes a quick fix is needed right away, but not Kopete is tied to the release schedule of a whole desktop environment, and unable to respond in a timely matter to such issues, leaving distros and individual users to scramble to patch things up. Having compiled from svn, and with it...

No - didn't know that was what svn stood for! Thanks. Right, ctrl-C on the make, urpmi subversion, and we're away...

[kopete] No more MSN :(

Quoted Originally posted by Christian Compile Kopete from svn and it will work. Aaargh. Now compiling svn for Mandriva (there is no rpm) so that I can try that... Can anyone say whether there is any possibility of Kopete working with MSN in future under KDE 3.3.x? 'm on KDE3.4 at the moment, but KDE3.4 and Mandriva 2005LE have major compatability problems (duplicated and/or non-existent menus, refusal to maintain keyboard maps, all sorts of things) and I'm planning to revert to 3.3.x. If not, i...
