RE: Question regarding file transfer!

When I hear "File Transfer", I think FTP (File Transfer Protocol). FTP is probably the most mature technology, with the most options on all platforms. After you configure an FTP server, Konqueror allows you to simply "Add a network folder" to it. Then, it's all drag and drop. Windows will allow you to do the same thing in pretty much the same manner. In addition to that, pretty much every web-browser has ftp support built into it natively. So, you can upload/download them without even adding a n...

[Kopete] Any success on video to/from Windows clients?

I did some tests tonight with one of my Linux boxes and a Windows system. I was unable to get video going either way, trying both the latest Windows Live Messenger and Yahoo! clients. Is this currently broken for everyone? I've had it working in the past, with older versions of Kopete. I'm currently using Kopete 0.12.7, from the Hardy Kubuntu repo. The Windows system uses a Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000. As soon as I click okay to receive on the Linux box, the Kopete video window starts to pop up t...

[kopete] SVN access?

The link to browse SVN, on the main Kopete page, returns an error. Attempting to check out a copy of the source using the instructions on the SVN page also returns an error: Quoted evil@pluto:~$ svn co -N svn://anonsvn.kde.org/home/kde/branches/KDE/3.5/kdenetwork svn: No such revision 658371 Can someone point me to the real SVN repository? Thanks,

[kopete] New SVN Compile problem (oscarversionupdater.moc)

For the last couple of weeks or so, SVN has failed to compile because oscarversionupdater.moc is not built when the other moc files are created (on Kubuntu 6.06.1 64-bit): ------ compiling /data/install/kdenetwork/kopete/protocols/oscar/oscarversionupdater.cpp g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I../kopete/protocols/oscar -I/data/install/kdenetwork/kopete/protocols/oscar -I.. -I../kopete/protocols/oscar/./ui -I/data/install/kdenetwork/kopete/protocols/oscar/ui -I../kopete/protocols/oscar/./liboscar -I/data/ins...

[kopete] Webcam settings - v0.11.50

I'm adding bug #117828 for this. If anyone knows a fix/workaround let me know so that I can close it. Item #1: Kopete does not seem to remember the webcam settings. Everytime I restart the program, the sliders are all the way to the left (giving me a black image), and the automatic brightness and color correction boxes reset to unchecked. I can adjust the sliders and everything works fine until my next reboot.. I'm using a Logitech Quickcam Express II w/ the SPCA5xx drivers. Item #2: When adjust...

KDE3.5 crash on shutdown.

I upgraded to KDE 3.5 on my Mandriva 2006 system. Everything works great, with two exceptions: aRts crashes if I run it with realtime priority (not a big deal), and I get a crash dialog every time KDE is shutting down. I was aware that there was a kicker issue with similar results in 3.4, but thought it had been fixed in 3.5? Anyone know a simple solution, or should I open a bug for it? Here is the backtrace from the shutdown crash: -------------- Using host libthread_db library "/lib/tls/libthr...

[kopete] CVS uncompilable at the moment (2005/04/18)?

Hmmmm... still having this problem with today's (4/23) source. Anyone out there compiling successfully with Mandriva... or know the possible cause?

[kopete] CVS uncompilable at the moment (2005/04/18)?

I recently upgraded to Mandriva 2005, and thought I'd give Kopete another try. I can't stand the 0.92 version (that is part of MLE2005), because I get lots of crashes when people who should be blocked (It's like it doesn't recognize the MSN All other Users block) send me multiple messages and I hit the 'ignore' button. Anyway, that was supposed to be recently fixed in CVS. So, I went to the Kopete site and found that the 'stable' 10.0 links are broken. Next, I retrieved/built the CVS version, as...

|Kopete| Crashes sometimes when clicking ignore (CVS - Feb. 16 '05)

No ideas or suggestions as to how I might troubleshoot further? After many many crashes, I've resorted to using Gaim. It's rock-solid, but Kopete had a better interface, IMHO. I'd switch back in a second if I could get the stability issues worked out. Update: Submitting this to bugs.kde.org database.

|Kopete| Crashes sometimes when clicking ignore (CVS - Feb. 16 '05)

Qt: 3.3.3 KDE: 3.3.1 Kopete: 0.9.92 I recently installed the Manrake KDE3.3 (+ update RPMs) packages on my main system. Kopete .84 and .92 had not previously been stable for me, so I had hoped it just one of the crash bugs already fixed in CVS. I made two changes to the CVS code to get it to compile: I removed the line where the auto-tab resizing (KDE3.4 feature?) property was set in the chat window code, and removed the KDE_EXPORT (broken until 3.3.2?) references from dummy.cpp. After that, it ...

Just thought I'd mention this, since it's been broken for a good while now. Someone probably wants to update it.
