Cannot change column width in Dolphin file manager?

Hello, I'm using Kubuntu 6.10 and tried the new Dolphin file manager. A big problem (to me a no-go-problem) ist that I cannot change the column widht in detail view. Is it a bug or what's the trick? My filenames are larger than 8.3 characters and I'm always using the split-view. regards spunti

[Konqueror] autofill username/password?

There is also a bug with Kubuntu 6.10 and kwalletmanager. If you are using Kubuntu try to load the updates. If it's not fixed, you can try the following which helped me to store some passwords: go to kwalletmanager properties, deactivate automatic start, restart KDE activate atomatic start again. spunti

Kontact and KWallet

There is a bug with Kubuntu 6.10 and kwalletmanager. It is so strange that even don't using kwalletmanager for kontact and let it save the password by itself doesn't seem to work. Unfortunately I'm not shure if it really works now. It doesn't feel so but try to load the updates. If it's not fixed, you can try the following which helped me to store some passwords: go to kwalletmanager properties, deactivate automatic start, restart KDE activate atomatic start again. spunti

[ktorrent] errors while importing torrents from directory

In the meantime ktorrent 2.1 came out which has not the same problems but similar ones. (A lot of different error messages that a torrent-file could be read in the kde-cache-directory or problem while merging two of the same torrents and even funny dialogs with a cancel and a no-button but without a yes-button). spunti

[ktorrent] errors while importing torrents from directory

hello, during the last time I experience several errors with KTorrent 2.0.3: When trying to import torrents automatically from directories only the first one of possible three is considered. But what is more anoying is that for every single import I get an error "file could not be read". Then I have to press OK and the dowload starts correctly. I could also open a torrent-link from the web directly with KTorrent (the konqueror-webbrowser offers this option to me) but here KTorrent crashes. After...

Modern KDE download manager

hello, why don't you help improve kget? What I miss there is the limitation of download-rate and perhaps a kind of priority setting for the downloads. e.g. right mouse click on a file and then selecting "download this file first. only after it is finished go on with the other files". A separation of folders between downloads-in-progress and finished-downloads would be great, too. regards spunti

KMail doesn't store password?

Though Kwallet seemed to work fine, it was the reason for all my trouble. You can find more information about kwallet and not storing passwords here: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+so…tils/+bug/67521 The solution ist: go to kwalletmanager properties, deactivate automatic start, restart KDE activate atomatic start again. regards spunti

KMail doesn't store password?

Hello, since Kubuntu 6.10 / KDE 3.5.5 KMail is unable to store my password. I believe there should be two ways: 1. If one use KWallet it can save the KMail password. Here is the problem that KMail opens up the PW entry dialog for email downloading without asking KWallet to open to get it's information from there. 2. KMail should be able to save it's password by itself but this doesn't work, too. After restarting KDE the entry in the send properties is empty and KMail opens up it's PW entry dialo...

New features of ktimemon (German: System Monitor)?

Hello, can someone explain the new features of the kicker applet ktimemon? (It's called System Monitor in German.) There are two new things that will be displayed now and I don't understand. What "IOWait" means I can guess, but what does "temporary saved" (German: "zwischengespeichert") mean here? What's the difference to "buffered" or "used"? thanks spunti

Konqueror does NOT re-activate proxy

Hello, I'm using KDE3.4.2 and there ist a problem with re-activating the html-proxy at least since version 3.4.0. In the menu I can deactivate the proxy via extra/html-properties/deactivate proxy. this seems to affect ALL open konqueror-instances (or new ones, I'm not shure for that). But when re-activating the proxy via the same menu-item, it only affects the current Konqueror-instance, which is a problem. One need to re-activate the proxy correctly in the usual Konquer-Properties:-( spunti Sus...

three features that could be improved

I've tested the Opera-Browser the last days and had the same error, too. There was no "fscommand" or something shown, but the Opera-PopUp-Blocker was activated and activated in a endless loop. I had to kill the Opera here, too. So the problem seems to be a Flash-Problem with KDE 3.4 / Suse 9.3. By the way, www.n-tv.de isn't an unimportant site. N-tv is the German doughter of CNN. I have to congratulate Konqueror to it's speed. It is not really slower than Opera. But there are three features that...

fscommand, protocol not supported?

hello, I've got the Konqueror of Suse9.3 KDE3.4. Sometimes on the website www.n-tv.de I get the following error-message in a loop: fscommand - protocol not supported. This is a real problem, because the error message loops so fast, that you cannot change the website. Sometimes you cannot even kill the konqueror or change to a text-shell to shutdown the X-server. At the moment I disabled all plugins for this website but there should be a better solution. I suppose this problem occurs of one of th...
