i did ./configure --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt --prefix=/usr/local ; make; make install non kopete 0.8rc1. there is a file menu > quit, help is normal, and "No Text!" ive tried right clicking the toolbars to try to get some toolbars, but nothing happens. if i do ./configure with no optoins, it wont compile - it tells me its missing some kde thing - sorry, cant remember what. im using slackware 9.1, kopete 0.8rc1, anybody got any idea's? i tried ./configure --prefix=/opt/kde-3.1 ; make ; make install, and it didn't install the binary to my path, and when i went to ./kopete/kopete and did ./kopete (starting in the src dir), it claimed to open, but put nothing in the console, and didn't open the gui or put even a blank icon in the tray - any idea's? slackware 9.1, kde3.1.4, kopete 0.8rc1
the "no text" problem was in 0.8 rc1 sorry about posting twice in a minute - ive only been up an hour
anything in cvs that reported to be 0.7.4 or later, all the 0.8 beta's and 0.8rc1. not tried 0.7.5 i dont think.
im using slackware 9.1, i previously couldn't get pase make (see above). I did ./configure prefix=/usr and it compiled cleanly. Only problem was i couldn't do anything with kopete. i'd post a screenshot but i reverted back to 0.7.4 before i thought of it. the menubar went like this: File View No Text! under no text was an empty dropdown menu. very odd. any idea's anybody?

oh ye, replace mozilla-1.4 with you're version of mozilla (leave it 1.4 if thats what uve got obv)
im not sure how yahoo authenticates but i know msn defainately needs ssl, maybe it cant find your SSL binaries, i'l nick some of gaim's FAQ on this for you: "/usr/lib/mozilla-1.4 to /etc/ld.so.conf and running ldconfig as root *might* fixinate it." then redo configure ; make ; make install (the above fix is for a different distro for a different app, but hey, try it)
but 0.7.4 definately works with msn - im using it right now. have you got openssl installed (does kopete use openssl?)
sorry, 0.8 beta's wont even compile, they say that im missing kconfig_compiler during make
same with slack 9.1 kde 3.1.4, also recent cvs gives the same prob - last working cvs i think was 0.7.93 or 94, so ive had to go back to 0.7.4
