Thanks. Thought I'd done that but I blew it somehow.
I use OpenSuse 10.2 with KDE 3.5.5. Somehow, Korganizer has died. The window is almost blank. Most buttons are grayed out, and it resists closing. Upgrading doesn't help. Neither does removal atd reinstall. Any suggestions?
I used kde file sharing to share music with my wife's machine in SuSE 9.2. With 9.3 the mechanism is still there but it does not work. The error message tells me to set the fileshareset script to suid. This does not work. I also tried using the script from my 9.2 installation. No luck there, either. How can I get it to work? Can it be done from the console?[/SIZE]
Thank you. The field was not collapsed. It was necessary to remove kmailrc. That did the trick. Thanks.
I have somehow lost the panel showing my mail folder list (sent mail, drafts, trash, etc). This is very awkward. Can any one tell me how to get it to display? The hand book is of no use.
Every time I put a file on the desktop, all the icons are scattered. No big thing but it IS annoying. Is there any way to stop it?
In 3.2 it's part of kdebase3-extra. Probably the same in 3.3. If installed, run as any other program - from the konsole or as a right click 'command'.
If you're using SuSE, open Yast to 'Add, Remove Programs' and use the search function. Search descriptions, also.
I don't use Fedora, but the method should apply anywhere. Find the location of the icon you don't like and replace it. As root, rename it to something like icon.png.old, and install the new one using it's name.
Check the k3b plugin settings. It may be looking in the wrong place.
Try in /opt/kde3/lib/kde3 . That's where mine is.
Wouldn't it be easier to right click and choose 'sort by name'?
If you know where the icons you don't like are stored, cd there (probably as root) and rename the ones you don't like to something like icon.png.old. Then copy the preferred icons into the folder using the original name that you just changed. Can't help with crypto, I don't do chat.
The kroot command allows regular users to have access to certain aspects of the root desktop. Other than a few graphics probrams like xpenguins, does any one know what other uses 'kroot' may have? There is almost no documentation.
"all?" I have no idea. However, there are a lot of them in kde control center -> regional and accessability.
Right click the desktop. In 3.2 the 'folders first' option can be de-selected.
You need to open the tree on the left and select the application you want. Then the right becomes un-greyed.
Try removing them as root.
I've had this problem twice. Once it was a bad A 10 gate chip on the motherboard and once it was bad memory.
Add cursor theme does not work. All files offered, including the installed files, are rejected. Same for the add splash section. It just don't work and the previous method no longer works.
