Can Konqueror display the filename in another encoding?

I do not think that such a feature will ever exist, as people crossing encodings mostly use Unicode (UTF-8 in this case). However probably that does not help you much. Have a nice day!

always kmail 1.4.3 starts (which was for KDE3.0 !!!!!!!!)

Just for your information: something like ./kmail is just a thin application that launches a library. So obviously in your case the wrong library is found. May I assume that KMail was compiled correctly and installed corretly? So perhaps you have to set $LD_LIBRARY_PATH or see if $KDEDIR or $KDEDIRs do not contradict with what they are supposed to be. Have a nice day!

OpenOffice vs. KOffice (vote)

Well, in any case, KOffice is not a "design study". However, sure, there is still plenty to do. (MS Word and StarOffice/OpenOffice have years of advance.)

Adding new fonts

qtconfig is the name of the program. If it is nowhere to see, try to start it from Konsole. (If you have not compiled Qt yourself, may be the program is not even installed at all.) Have a nice day!

OpenOffice vs. KOffice (vote)

Quoted Original von pospiech One thing one should always keep in mind in a discussion like this - the KDE Office developers claim their project a 'design study'. IMHO is the most important statement about Koffice. Who? Where?

Adding new fonts

I have no idea what it might. Could you look at the font substitutions in qtconfig ? Select each of your (missing) fonts and verify that they do not get substitued. Also do the fonts appear in the font dialogs of KWord? Have a nice day!
