Go to Settings->Schema and select something from the drop down list. (This all done from memory as I am not on my Linux box at the moment.)
I still cannot find it, but maybe you could try another way? Say you export it to a comma delimited file(csv) in Netscape and then import it to kmail? Just an idea as a work around. I looked at the bug list, but did not see a solution as yet...
I know I read something about it a while ago, but am unable to find it right now. Will let you know when I do.
I assume Tools->Import...->Netscape LDIF Addressbook did not work for you?
Not a whole lot to go on here. Are you perhaps using GL screen savers?
Suse used to be my favourite distro (~6.0), but I switched to Gentoo because a) I like to keep my programs up to date b) dependancy issues with RPM's is a pain that reminds me too much of windows (wich I last used 2 years ago ) I do agree it is a steep learning curve for newbies though.......
I must assume you upgraded kde in the mean time? At some point session management was changed ever so slightly You can select between having the session saved every time you log out or not. If not, then you will have a new menu entry (just above the K) that will allow you to save the session manually. Oh I am not using RH so they might have screwed up the whole thing anyway. Switch to Gentoo
OK you did not pre-respond to the other dum question Are you using alsa drivers and if so did you turn up the volume.....
ruckus, If you can send other emails and just XXXX@yahoo.com is rejected then yahoo is blocking your address for some reason. (What a joke - Yahoo blocking anything...) What is your email address set to under the identity you are using to send. Open Settings->Configure Kmail. Select identities. Edit the one you are using (Default?). Make sure you have a proper email address in the email box......
if you want to use kdesu you must supply the full path: #kdesu /usr/sbin/adsl I suppose you are not connected to the modem (laptop?) all the time so you do not want to connect automatically every time you boot up?
Root password is a security risk -> never store it in a file, encrypted or not....
Yep kongy does a great job of it - it also has a "smart" option where it will allow apropriate popups to work (Like banks etc.) Just go to Setting->Configure Konqueror->Java&JavaScript->JavaScript Tab. On the bottom of this tab is the popup option....
Post your config and we will have a look.
I use KDE because I can set it up to look and work the way I want to. If you don't like the look of something, change it! Too clutered? Clean it up! Don't like the icon set? Install another one (http://www.kde-look.org) Don't like what SCO is doing - let them know! (In more ways that one )
This really depends on your distro. If kde was compiled with a different gcc and glibc library then it will not neccessary run.
It sounds like your environment ($PATH, etc) might be different? compare the output of env and see.....
I would suggest you recompile kdeutils (i think this is where kpackage is) - don't use the binary's.
My fault, I forgot that kpackage could also do deb packages. I use Gentoo - no dependancy nightmares I assume you are able to run the commands from command line?
kpackage is a wrapper for rpm. If you are using debian why do you want to mess with rpm's?
Go to www.kde-look.org and look under "Splash Screens"
