hmmm, the command for konqueror is konqueror, opening konqueror to kde.org it konqueror http://kde.org, but what about full screen?
AIM, MSN for only 3 people. Uses the Netscape IM (AIM), GAIM, AMSN, or Everybuddy in LindowsOS. I also have a Yahoo account
Quoted Original von Azrael Quoted Original von The Kid Well, for the network, do you have a router or not? No, I've only got 2 PCs, each one has one network card. So? Can you help me to configure all that stuff?? Which one is actually connected to the modem? Quoted Original von Azrael Sorry, but I'm not english, so I'm not very strong in speaking english , and so, I didn't really understood what you said . Do you mean that it's not possible "anymore" to use Win programs under Lindows 8O??...
Well, for the network, do you have a router or not? Quoted Original von Azrael Also, I would like to know, is Lindows stable, very good, and is it true that you can use Win programs under it ??? Answering those questions, Lindows have backed off of the Win programs claim several months ago (even though its lingering around the net). Yes, Lindows is very stable, it is based on Debian Linux. It costs $99 for two years of Click and Run (programs, download or order CD for shipping) and Lindows...
I don't use Mandrake, but I think its the about same with lindows. During the installation, it should have asked you about connecting to the internet.
It should connect automatically using DHCP if you use Mandrake 9.0.
I love KOffice (even though I can get StarOffice for free through Lindows Click and Run), because it is so fast loading. But I really can't use it as everyday wordprocessor yet, unless they handle .doc, .xls, and .ppt files (MS Office files) better. For temporary solution, I either use StarOffice, or sometimes MS Office using WINE.
I think this arguement should get a seperate thread.
Quoted Original von Keith Well everyone could learn how and save money too. Not all people are willing to take time and learn if all they need to pay is $99 (How much is Windows per COPY? $199 Retail?)
Quoted Original von Kenneth Well, I'm cheap and I would rather go download RPMs or tarballs to install new programs instead of having to pay up money, since I don't even have an allowance anyways. If you are good at finding dependencies and can install things from tarballs and .rpms, then you don't need Lindows, great, you save money.
Quoted Original von Kenneth Do you have to use Click'n' Run to get new programs? Why don't you just get the program from it's original site? And shouldn't this thread be in the distibution forum? Of course, you don't have to, but why would you if its in Click and Run? Click and Run's cost is for convenience and the commercial software in the warehouse.
Lindows is better for me since I don't know much about Linux. For everyone who are happy with Mandrake or RedHat or whatever distro they use, then stick with it, they don't need Lindows. I have one question for everyone. Why does everyone hate Lindows? I don't hate RedHat, Debian, SuSE, or Mandrake. They are all Linux distros.
Lindows if you're willing to pay, Mandrake if not. Also, other considerations are Lycoris and Xandros.
In my opinion, signatures should be words (or letters) under 75 characters.
