OK I've tried KDE 4 in kubuntu, opensuse and mandriva and get the same problems with all of them. 1. Although I can move widgets about the panel when I release the arrow they revert to their previous position. 2. I can only get one time zone in the clock (with KDE 3 I can display two or more) 3. There is no facility for keyboard status. 4. How do I get application icons onto the panel?
Have been exploring kde 4.1. What a disappointment. Yes I understand that Qt 4 gives big “behind the scenes” improvements in memory usage, 3D, gaming and inter OS operability. But get the user basics right as well. Lets have decent desktop configuration. The ability to drag and drop widgets to panel or desktop and at least replicate kde 3.5 applets before inventing new widgets. (Where's the widget version of Keyboard Status ?)
