Hi there! I am having the same problem over here! Ksmoothdock starts, panel does not appear thanks to the panel.desktop - file But I cannot access the K-Menu using KSmoothDock .. clicking on the penguin does nothing but flashing the icon ... as feedback of pressing LMB.. Hi there! I am using KDE 3.3.0 on Slack 10 and have a strange thing in konqueror. When I select a file and press F2 to rename it, the usual thing happens: It switches to a saelected terxt, which I can manipulate. But it has some strangle colored background (the text only) and a soon as begin to type the new filename everything inside this little boxes gets so damn distored, that I cannot read a single letter anymore!!! Don't know where this may come from ... never had this before. Any ideas? Tha...

Hi there! i know, I know...there are forums that fit better to this topic, but the more I try the better I feel :-) But since k3b is very common for KDE-Users I'll give it a try... I have k3b 0.11.17 installed and emovix 0.9.0rc1 on Slack 10.0, KDE 3.3.0 Kernel 2.4.26 Both installed without any problems. The problem is only, that k3b will not find my emovix installation. i entered the direct path to the executable and to the rest ... but it didn't change a thing. I just get an error that k3b cou...
My favorite is Slackware 10.0 Because it is the one and only Distro that runs on my Desktop and Laptop without big hardware problems and really installs with all libs - not like so installer which tell you they make a full install and put 1 1/2 DVDs on your disc and still a lot of libs are missing. Just works perfectly and without YaST or so, I learn much more about Linux... Sascha.
Hi There! I use KDE 3.3.0 and it works fine. But between some sessions... don't know why,... the settings for my Style (baghira) get lost and reset to the settings after installation. Thought this could be a baghira problem... but... whenever that happens, the antialiasing of fonts is deactivated, too ... and baghira-style has nothing to do with that, as far s I know... Hi there! Yesterday I downloaded the Slack-package of amarok and installed it. It is wonderfull. In the docs I found the dcop commands and tried them ... works nice. Now, here is my problem: amarok runs on one machine... most of the time the screensaver is on and it only plays the music, while I am sitting 2-3 meter away, working on another Linux box. I tried to connect to the first one via ssh and controll amarok via dcop. But I just got errors it could not be started or something like that. Is...

Sorry, I cannot help you with that... but maybe you could be so nice to help me. If you have a xorg.conf that is working for what you said (mon. and TV) I would be tooooooooo happy about getting a view on the important parts of xorg.conf ... Would you post or mail it? Thanks, Sascha
Ooopss... no! Sorry, forgot about this thread! I solved the problem. In kmix are some bars for some things I didn't know. They were all turned to zero ... raising them made it loud enough! If I got that right its something from the aRts - Server... But thanks for your time! Greetings, Sascha

Hi! Just installed KDE3.3 on Slack 10.0 Works nearly perfect, so far... and looks quite good after turning on antialiased fonts :-) But why the hell are my icons all messed up? I had them positioned under each other in a special order (not alphabtically or by type or so) and the only way I can do this now is different then in 3.2 ... they SNAP to the grid instead of beeing aligned to the grid ... that wouldn't be a problem... if their spacing could be fine-tuned How can I make the align to the g...
It is called "styleclock" I think... don't have my laptop around to look for the name... but I think it was styleclock ... and.. it is themable :-) Very easy by the way, since it uses jpegs... Greetings, Sascha
