I'm Not Disappointed But. . . .

Here's my 2 cents.... I am not disappointed because I expected KDE4 to have a learning curve, and to break new ground and have some new features that are a little rough around the edges. That being said there are a lot of things seem to have taken a step back. Like the obvious things including the Plasma based desktop and task manager. A major problem for me is the devolution of the "File Dialogs" and the fish protocol seem to have been neutered (I posted about this in the KDE Network forum). Ka...

FISH and File Dialogs in KDE4

Probably the most important feature in KDE to me has always been the KIO Slaves, specifically fish. Has the functionality of fish been reduced in KDE4? Specifically the file dialogs used to allow you to type in a full path in the form: fish://servname/home/www/mysite/html The file open/save dialog, showed the remote path, and even allowed for type ahead completion.
