Amen. I came here just to propose that but instead would "me too" your post. Maybe KDE core developer guys are too busy to maintain the distro but it sure would be nice to have a "reference" KDE-oriented desktop package. I tried a lot recently and none are exactly what I'd like it to be (and I'm too old to fiddle around and compile all the stuff myself). Mandriva (2007) possibly comes closest but still it's not ideal (where "ideal" means that I can safely recommend it to my non-Linux savvy frien...
