I am an advocate of candy factor and wow charm. But one thing KDE developers is missing is the fact that running KDE in an average PC is getting too painfully slow. I remember when no long ago people was parroting that Linux could run in very old PCs and mocking on "Microsuck Winsucks" saying that only the top PC could run that software. Look at Linux and KDE now. These have become the most indecent fatest hogs that need lots of resources, and you are still asking KDE for 3D desktop! C'mon guys,...

Hello! People have read Rinse's point of view and I thank him. I stand for what I say and will not argue with Rinse nor respond because there is no point. He has his view and that's it. I have mine and not going to change it. I expected something like that. But I also expect to be able to work out this idea with constructive people who thinks like me. So, if someone is interested, lets try it. But nothing will come out if admins do not want to cooperate.

Hello! I have seen screen shots of KDE applications for the next version. I was stunned by seeing essentially the same apps. but refurbished; for example, in KSysGuard they are making transparent graphics instead of the opaque as now. They are really nice. Also imagine! they have rendered Majong game soooo beautiful, I admit, and is easier to distinguish the plates and you can see them in truly 3D! I know there is one thread in this forum which asks what you want from KDE by Skyfire. But the question is: How and who can make sense from all that jungle of words and wishes? lets admit it: no developer is going to spend their time weeding out the gold from the garbage in that thread. One thing is sure: KDE (3.5.1 in SLED 10) is very slow in several aspects, beginning with boot time, then starting KDE applications supposed to be optimized for this desktop. For example, inserting a music CD prompts KDE to open KsCD player but it takes like one minute. Compare this to Grip which almost instantly finds out the identity of the CD, not to mention that it loads quickly and can play the disk immediately.
